Happy Monday – it’s time for the 3rd edition of 5 Favorite Things! 
1. Fun Birthday Traditions
Today is my mom’s birthday {Happy Birthday, Mom}! Many years ago, we started a fun little tradition with myself, mom, my two aunts, and Gram. For each birthday, we go out to breakfast together and then to the casino. Each person gives the birthday girl $10, so you end up with $40 to “donate” to the slot machines on your birthday 🙂 It’s a fun way to celebrate together!
2. Fixer Upper
I know I’m WAY behind on this one, but we don’t have cable. Sometimes I buy shows on Amazon to get my HGTV fix. Fixer Upper
(affiliate link) is my new all time favorite home show. It’s a husband & wife duo that help people find homes below their budget, and then restore & remodel them. The end results are always magazine worthy, no matter the budget. I also love that they frequently save homes that most people consider tear downs. Best show ever! 
3. Boot Weather
In Oklahoma, we keep getting teased by fall. I’ve had a light jacket on a few days, then it gets HOT again. I’m ready for consistent boot weather. I think I might need to add these beauties to my collection this year! 
4. Amazing Vintage Finds
We went to a fun event called Vintage Market Days this weekend on a whim, and came out with the coolest things. Our big buy was a set of 3 auditorium seats from Oklahoma State University. They were the perfect size for our entry way AND both sides had finished Art Deco details. I shared a couple sneak peeks of them on Instagram & will do a full reveal when I get the art work finished that will hang above them.
5. Dog Costumes
They make me laugh every time, and laughter makes for the BEST Mondays! Here is Maddie’s costume for this year (click for tutorial).
And my parent’s dog dressed up as a party animal…

You just reminded me how much I miss HGTV since I left America 🙁 But I will check out the show you mentioned through your link. BTW, where are those gorgeous boots from? I love them and this year I am determined to buy a brown pair of boots, instead of yet another pair of black ones…I have every possible style and heel size of black boots I think 🙂 xx
